Chen Shanping received his master degree in neurobiology from Southern Medical University in 2013. And then he joined Prof. Liping Wang’ Lab at SIAT as a research assistant until he became a PhD candidate in 2016.

His current research interests focus on brain neural mechanism of innate fear emotion and response, as well as neural circuits of different neurons activity by visual stimulation. He combines electrophysiology recording and optogenetics techniques to analyze the mechanisms of synapse formation, neurotransmission, and synaptic plasticity, which are frequently abnormal in major mental diseases.
