Dr Mao received her PhD degree in the Harbin Medical University with Prof. Jing Ai , in the school of Pharmacology (CHN). Her researches focused on the mechanisms of neuroinflammation in neurodegenerative diseases. In 2020 she joined Prof. Yu Chen’s team at SIAT, where she focused on the mechanism of microRNA regulating neuroinflammation. Using single cell RNA sequencing, conditional gene deletion approaches and molecular biology, her research aims at: 1) investigating the molecular basis of microRNA regulating microglia function in AD model mice. 2) understanding the molecular pathology in neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s diseases.
